Fujitsu – Digital Transformations
Fujitsu – Digital Transformations by Found
***ALL THE VFX & ANIMATIONS IN THIS FILM WERE SHOT ENTIRELY IN-CAMERA USING VARIOUS PROJECTION TECHNIQUES AND WITHOUT THE USE OF ANY POST PRODUCTION TRICKERY!***.

When the wonderful team at mcgarrybowen approached us to work on their new spot for Fujitsu using projections, we saw a fantastic opportunity to do something new with the technique. This is the fourth in a series of films from Fujitsu based around their brand message of ‘Human Centric Innovations’. Entitled ‘Digital Transformations’, projections seemed an appropriate way to tell they story by seamlessly transitioning through a succession of environments all created using visual FX. Crucially it was all filmed live and in-camera without the use of any post production, using a mixture of front and back projections, 3D projection mapping and a state-of-the-art holographic projection technique.
Our challenge was to try and create a film which incorporated a multitude of characters and locations as well as visual effects and animation all within the confines of a 32ft sq white cube. To add to the complexity we decided to use a ‘Holo-gauze’ for all the info-graphics. This is a virtually transparent projection gauze that, under the correct lighting conditions, can create the effect of 3D holograms. It was the perfect solution for us to include foreground animated graphics in the film, live and in-camera.
The projection side of things was pretty tricky too as rather than just creating one “sweet spot” viewing angle, which is normally the case with projection mapping, we wanted to create a new and unique viewing angle for each individual shot. We worked closely with the guys at Projection Artworks to develop a system that gave us the ability to make a film, with all the usual filmmaking conventions, but in a very unconventional way.

The Sharjah Light Festival is back with 11 nights of colourful displays
The festival kicks off next month
There’s a dazzling projection art event coming to Sharjah.
Sharjah Light Festival is returning for 2022 with 11 nights of colourful projections and music. If this year is anything like previous festivals, our eyes are in for a treat.
The colourful festival is the first and only of its kind in the region and has been running for over ten years. It attracts thousands of visitors to up to 20 locations in Sharjah each year. The designs are inspired by local culture, stories and traditions.
The 2022 Sharjah Light Festival goes from February 9 to February 20 and is organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
The festival brings a kaleidoscope of creative lights and colour to Sharjah’s architecture. Diverse locations are featured during the annual show, with light and sound spectacles that transform them. (Have your camera ready.) The festival uses energy-saving lighting technology and all the lights and projectors used have passed certification for environmental compliance.
