Pixel is a dance show for 11 dancers in a virtual and living visual environment. The French artist duo Adrien M / Claire B have created for “Pixel-extraits” an amazing visual scenography, for immerse a group of eleven dancers skilled in breakdancing, body-twisting circus movements, and hip-hop, in spectacular digital media. A work on illusion combining energy and poetry, fiction and technical achievement, hip hop and circus. A show at the crossroads of arts and at the crossroads of Adrien M / Claire B’s and Mourad Merzouki’s universes.

For Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne – “Pixel—Extraits” is a continuation of an experiment in combining the poetics of the human body with projection-mapped augmented realities to weave optical illusions and new fictions.“Our job is to compose non-figurative stories with abstract, minimalist graphic shapes, using motion as a central writing tool.”

The Adrien M / Claire B Company has been acting in the fields of the digital arts and performing arts since 2004. They create many forms of art, from stage performances to exhibitions combining real and virtual worlds with IT tools that were developed and customised specifically for them. They place the human body at the heart of technological and artistic challenges and adapt today’s technological tools to create a timeless poetry through a visual language based on playing and enjoyment, which breeds imagination. The projects are carried out by Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne. The company operates as a research and creativity workshop based out of Presqu’île in Lyon.

The company was associated with Hexagone Scène Nationale Arts Sciences – Meylan in the years of 2009-2010-2011. They also worked in association with the Manège de Reims Scène Nationale during the theatre seasons of 2005-2006-2007. The Adrien M / Claire B Company is accredited by DRAC Rhône-Alpes, Rhône-Alpes Region and is supported by the City of Lyon.

The Sharjah Light Festival is back with 11 nights of colourful displays

The festival kicks off next month

There’s a dazzling projection art event coming to Sharjah.

Sharjah Light Festival is returning for 2022 with 11 nights of colourful projections and music. If this year is anything like previous festivals, our eyes are in for a treat.

The colourful festival is the first and only of its kind in the region and has been running for over ten years. It attracts thousands of visitors to up to 20 locations in Sharjah each year. The designs are inspired by local culture, stories and traditions.

The 2022 Sharjah Light Festival goes from February 9 to February 20 and is organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

The festival brings a kaleidoscope of creative lights and colour to Sharjah’s architecture. Diverse locations are featured during the annual show, with light and sound spectacles that transform them. (Have your camera ready.) The festival uses energy-saving lighting technology and all the lights and projectors used have passed certification for environmental compliance.

The Sharjah Light Festival also showcases the emirate’s rich heritage and historical monuments. Local and international artists, musicians and light technicians collaborate to showcase the emirate’s achievements.
